Abstract :
The objective of the paper is to inform the conference of the Department of Energy´s program to transport nuclear spent fuel (SNF) to a repository in Nevada. Information about the opening of operations, the freight cars expected to haul SNF, the special requirements of the AAR Standard S-2043 and the procurement plans are detailed.
