Abstract :
There are many methods to measure the quantity of skin sebum. One of them is Near-Infrared Spectroscopy which is an example of branches of optical instrument that can be used in many areas, including in this project. Near-Infrared Spectroscopy is also known as NIR spectroscopy. NIR spectroscopy has been proved as the best instrument for the study of various biomedical samples and to measure the skin sebum. We compared the obtained result by using this method with Dermalab Sebum Model to find the correlation between these instruments. In this study, the sebum secretion in face is classified as dry, oily and normal skin face. Results from the preliminary study has showed that the sebum secretion can be divided into two regions based on the amount of the sebum such as T-Zone which covers forehead and nose while U-Zone region covers right cheek, left cheek and chin.
