Abstract :
Techniques are presented to produce array pattern troughs in response to discrete sources of interference. The basic technique is adaptive and is implemented by a simple modification of the measured covariance matrix. It can be used to form troughs in both the near and far zones. A related technique is shown to be useful for deterministically producing nulls or troughs at specified angular regions
