Abstract :
The electro-optic method has advantages of stability and controllability for ultrashort optical pulse generation, in which the pulse position, width, shape and repetition rate can be controlled electrically. For applications such as optical pulse synthesis by electro-optic method, EO phase modulator is generally used for producing wide optical frequency spectral broadening from a single frequency laser source. We report a novel standing-wave EO phase modulator with optimized non-periodic domain inversion for getting high modulation index.
