Abstract :
The aim of the present paper is to report results of the novel theoretical simulations of a polarisation bistable Nd-doped laser passively Q-switched with a Cr/sup 4+/:YAG crystal, the polarisation state of which is controlled by an exterior manner. The basic idea stems from the possibility to change an initial relationship between the ground state populations of the Cr/sup 4+/ centers groups in a Cr/sup 4+/:YAG passive switch by means of CW radiation.
