Abstract :
The semiconductor ring lasers in recent years attract a lot of attention and show the potentiality of direct signal processing with modulation, detection or wavelength conversion using semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs). Fiber ring lasers also show promising performance with the erbium-doped fiber amplifiers. In this paper, we employ an 8x8 fiber coupler, a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA), a 2x2 electro-optic (EIO) switch, a polarization controller (PC), and a 1m single-mode fiber (SMF) to achieve a new multiple output fiber ring laser.
