Abstract :
An offset instantaneous digital companding scheme was proposed to reduce peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal. The deliberate constant offsets were added in front of the compressor to reduce the dynamic range of the input signal. The performance of the proposed schemes were evaluated and compared with the other PAPR techniques by computer simulations. It was shown that the PAPR was effectively reduced using the proposed scheme.
