Abstract :
Tests of an Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) are conducted in a flume to determine the forces and torques on the vehicle at thruster angles of 0, 15 and 30 degrees. Particle image velocimetry measurements are made along the aft section upstream of the propeller to examine flow separation. Using force transducer measurements, the coefficients of moment and thrust are calculated for different thruster angles. The measurements show a reduction of the thrust coefficient and yaw moment coefficient as the thruster angle increases
