Abstract :
This paper describes briefly some of the key features of the microwave CAD programs PUFF and C/NL2 giving details of hardware requirements, cost of the software and where it can be obtained. PUFF version 2.0 is a DOS program for laying out and analysing microstrip and stripline circuits using a simple interactive schematic capture type of environment. C/NL2 version 1.2 is an advanced CAD program that analyses and optimises the gain, return loss, noise performance and nonlinear distortion of a wide variety of linear and nonlinear RF and microwave circuits. The program can perform all the necessary calculations for the design of active and passive microwave two port circuits, including nodal noise figure, intermodulation intercept points, stability circles, gain circles and simultaneous conjugate match impedances
