Abstract :
Summary form only given. We report the fabrication of flame hydrolysis deposition silica waveguide circuits on quartz with GeO2 as the index-raising dopant for the core. Silica waveguides doped with GeO2 are known to have much lower loss than those doped with TiO2. 1xN splitters have been processed and their performance is discussed
