Abstract
This paper present a new algorithm for transmission lines, autoreclosure using artificial neural network. It utilizes the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) as the pattern classifier and different harmonic components of positive sequence of voltage as the input´s ANN. Extensive simulation studies show that harmonics of positive sequence of voltage provide suitable inputs for classification of different faults. The proposed scheme achieves outstanding performance and the ability to discriminate transient faults fast and accurately. Details of the proposed relay design are given in the paper. Some performance studies results are also given.
