Abstract :
The current source charge pump power factor correction (CS-CPPFC) electronic ballast combined with buck converter is proposed in the paper. The combination is effective to reduce the voltage stress at the pre-heat and start-up operation and also to improve the crest factor of the lamp current. A proposed electronic ballast was implemented for Vin=100 V and FHF 32×2. It can obtain DF=1.66, THD=4.7%, and maximum DC voltage is reduced under 180 V
