Abstract
We address a motion estimation algorithm in order to detect a moving object in video sequences with the minimum error. The method is based on the SLIDE (subspace-based line detection) algorithm which is modified and applied to real-world video sequences in order to define motion direction and to track video sequences. The resulting fast algorithm enables nonlinear motions to be tracked while preserving the topology. Finally, we demonstrate the utility of this approach and its advantages over existing motion estimation methods on a number of video sequences.
