Abstract :
A multilevel modular decomposition method along with a judgement of cumulative efficiency for s-coherent multistate systems is presented as an extension of modular decomposition. The concept of state tree analysis (STA), generalized module, and modular decomposition are introduced. The cumulative efficiency index of this method is developed and is found to be satisfactory. The method is comprehensive, applicable and easy to use by professionals in engineering to compute and analyze reliability of complex s-coherent multistate systems. A hypothetical airborne radar system is used as a case study to illustrate, step-by-step, the multilevel modular decomposition approach. The results are compared with the binary model
