  • Abstract
Describes the design of SODE (Script-Oriented Development Environment) for multi-agent systems. A script specifies a multi-agent system by defining the behavior of each agent. SODE accepts and executes user-specified scripts by employing several workstations to simulate the behaviors of the specified multi-agent system. Each agent is an independent process in the system. Agents communicate with each other via TCP/IP networks. SODE provides an environment for system developers to compare different coordination mechanisms when they develop multi-agent systems. This paper utilizes a multi-agent object sorting task to illustrate the development environment
