Abstract :
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) between electrical and electronic devices is an ever growing discipline. As a result, Radio Noise Meter or EMI Receiver is an indispensable apparatus in quantifying the magnitude of radio interference (disturbance) emitted from these devices. They are also used to determine product compliance to national and international EMC standards. This paper takes a look at the development and evolution of EMI Receiver since the early days of radio interference. This paper also discusses technological development factors and trends for the future of EMI Receivers.
