Abstract
CAD programs in automation, such as Matlab version 4.2, open the way for development of powerful tools for design of complex control systems such as automatic pilots or flight management systems. Control systems design and simulation (CSDS) is proposed as a generic software tool finding applications in such varied industrial fields as aeronautics, robotics and process control. Designed primarily for high-order nonlinear systems, CSDS incorporates algorithms allowing system linearisation, analysis, linear and nonlinear synthesis, and simulation of the system in open-loop and closed-loop forms. In the current stage of development the authors have considered several applications of CSDS in the aeronautical field, especially for the design of automatic pilot functions
