Abstract :
A patient data management system for intensive care was compared to manual record-keeping in a medical-surgical intensive care unit. The criteria for the comparison were the acceptance by the nurses, the reliability in collecting hemodynamic data and the physicians´ ability to recall the patient data from the last 24 hours. The patient data management system appeared to be better with respect to all three criteria.<>
