Abstract
In a multi-user MIMO downlink system, due to the limitation on the number of transmit antennas, we consider employing zero-forcing beamforming (ZFBF) and oblique projection beamforming (OPBF) as the spatial multiplexing strategies when there are many users to be supported simultaneously. Based on the analysis of ZFBF and OPBF, we show these various linear transmitter designs that offer low complexity and high performance for the practical application, mitigating co-channel interference.
