Abstract :
Due to the recent downsizing of sensor devices, many researches focus on data collection by mobile sinks for ubiquitous sensor environments. In ubiquitous sensor environments, mobile sinks such as pedestrians or buses collect data from sensors deployed ubiquitously. However, mobile sinks travel regardless of data collection and the problem that mobile sinks cannot complete file receptions occurs when the data size is large since it takes longer time to complete the reception than the available communication time. In this paper, we propose file transmission methods to mobile sinks for ubiquitous sensor environments. In our proposed methods, sensors prepare some files that have the same contents but have different data sizes. Sensors select a file for transmission considering the data size that they could transmit to mobile sinks at previous times. Since the probability that mobile sinks can receive whole data within available communication time increases, mobile sinks can complete file receptions with high probability.
