  • Abstract
    As an efficient data transmission technique, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) can realize high data rate transmission and resist multi-path fading. The timing offset estimation is very important for OFDM systems, but the synchronization algorithm proposed by Schmidle has some shortcomings, to overcome the shortcomings, this paper presents a symbol timing estimation algorithm which uses a special training sequence. Performance of the algorithm is analyzed, and the simulation results show the method is preciser, so it is a useful algorithm.
