  • Abstract
The paper presents a theoretical approach to locate a power quality violator in a supply network. The violator is considered as a harmonic current source connected to a node of a linear electric circuit. The proposed localization procedure allows to find this node using voltages measured in two arbitrary nodes of the circuit. The basic concept is that for a certain location of a single current source in a linear circuit the ratio of two nodal voltages is a constant value defined by the source location only. The proposed method can be extended to localize N current sources acting in the circuit using voltages measured in N+l nodes.
