Abstract :
In this paper, an improved Taylor series location algorithm is presented for IEEE 802.15.4a channels. The indoor residential Line of Sight (LOS) channel model is considered. After estimating the Time of Arrival (TOA) or Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA), the Chan algorithm is used as an initial estimate for the Taylor-series method. Performance results are presented which indicate that this algorithm provides better position accuracy and is more efficient than the Chan and Taylor series algorithms used separately.
