Abstract
We describe an architecture and algorithm which integrates fast Fourier transform (FFT) based frequency domain channel detection techniques with multiple hand-off narrow bandwidth receivers for spectral monitoring and signal copy. It uses efficient time domain based channel recovery based on inverse FFTs of the wide bandwidth Fourier coefficients. Advantages of this technique over conventional architectures are described and practical implementation issues are described. The architecture has been implemented in Shrike, a high performance fully integrated spectral monitoring and copy system designed for HF and V/UHF applications
