  • Abstract
    This paper presents the advanced two-stage structure design of 4 times 4 SDH digital cross-connect (SDXC) matrix. The design scheme, functional configuration and circuit realization of the matrix are discussed mainly. The principle of column exchange is adopted and the space-slot interchange and time- slot interchange is combined in this design. And the design is carried on according to the ASIC design route. Through the two-stage exchange structure the free cross-connect can be implemented which is non-blocking completely among the 252 TU-12 tributaries in four different STM-1 input signals. And the design has the characteristic of flexible function, lower network cost and less delay. Finally, the design is verified realizable through the functional simulation and synthesis.
