The results of an experimental research of influence of discontinuities on fields distribution near to boundaries of a passband and in a stopband of the coupled cavity chains are presented. Local oscillations in the limited periodic structure such as coupled cavity chain, similar by the physical nature Tamm´s to surface levels are revealed
