  • Abstract
Mobile communication has been, and continues to be, an essential tactical requirement for many types of commercial and military operations involving cellular mobile communication systems, radio communication stations and mobile forces. Specific mobile unit requirements vary widely because of different needs and different traditional methods of satisfying such needs within the several branches of the customer. The system in object, single channel radio access (SCRA), consists of (i) the radio access point (RAP), which operates as base station of a cellular telephone network. (ii) A variable number of mobile units (MU) which operate as peripheral stations. The electromagnetic threat used to investigate the survivability of the SCRA to severe electromagnetic environments, includes nuclear high altitude electromagnetic pulse (NEMP) and lightning electromagnetic pulse (LEMP) as defined in Finabel 2C10 cap.5
