Abstract :
We propose round-corner octagonal micropillar resonator channel add-drop filters. Our two-dimensional finite-difference time-domain simulations reveal whispering-gallery-like modes traveling near the round-corner octagonal microresonator circumference. By cascading two octagonal microresonators, we demonstrate second-order filter characteristics.
