            Abstract : 
The bit error probability (BER) of an Ultra-Wideband (UWB) communication system in the presence of interference is derived. The focus is on the influence of IEEE 802.11a interference on an impulse radio UWB (IR-UWB) system using time hopping pulse position modulation (TH-PPM). Results are presented to illustrate the performance of a UWB system with IEEE 802.11a interference in an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel.
