Abstract :
A simple directional pattern printed antenna is proposed. The antenna consists of a printed strip monopole antenna and parasitic elements, which are mounted on a circular ground plane. The parasitic elements are adopted for the radiation pattern forming and broadening the impedance bandwidth. The antenna characteristics are investigated theoretically in the 4-6 GHz frequency range, and verified by the experiment. Measurements have shown that the antenna demonstrated bidirectional pattern with a moderate gain of around 5 dB and is well matched.
