Abstract :
This paper proposes a two-layer hybrid scheduling scheme to fulfill the appropriate transmission of multi-class services packets in a downlink shared channel. In the first layer this scheme classifies the packets into three groups: rigid realtime, near realtime and non-realtime, on the base of analysis of the quality of service requirements of the four traffic types defined by 3GPP/3GPP2 organization, and allots transmission time slots to them in the pre-assigned proportions; in the second layer three distinct algorithms are adopted to transmit homologous packets to users separately, these are first come first service, bandwidth guaranteed and proportional fair scheduling algorithms; Simulation results validate the effectiveness and performance of the proposed scheme.
