Abstract :
This paper describes the application of an evaporator control system using a multivariable model-free adaptive (MFA) controller. The concept of model-free adaptive control is introduced. The system structure and commissioning steps are discussed. The successful application of controlling this severely coupled nonlinear multivariable process shows the merits of model-free adaptive control, where complex systems can be controlled requiring no quantitative process knowledge, no process identification, no controller design, and no complicated manual tuning
