Abstract :
Some efforts toward all-optical signal conversions to provide a high degree of transparency and flexibility to high-speed optical communication systems have been reviewed. We briefly review our efforts toward these ends using nonlinear optical effects in optical fibers and semiconductor optical amplifiers.
