Abstract :
In this paper, we used a moment method to analyses and optimise an ultra broadband patch antenna. The final results show that the optimised patch antenna looks like a cobra snake. We refer to this antenna to as "cobra patch antenna". The simulation results were compared with the experimental results, and show good agreement. We present the current distributions, VSWR, and radiation patterns of this antenna. Extended measurements have shown that this antenna has good matching up to 25 GHz.
