Abstract :
A novel CPW-fed asymmetric bow-tie slot antenna for UWB applications is examined. The antenna has been successfully implemented, exhibiting 7.94 GHz of impedance bandwidth. By incorporating inductively coupled bow-tie slots at both sides of the CPW line, evident enhancement of the impedance behavior is demonstrated. Further investigation of a novel CPW-to-CPW transition and a proposed model asymmetry is described. The miniature shape (47 mm × 36 mm), bidirectional behavior and medium gain of this antenna means that it can have a potential impact in modern UWB radio applications.
