Abstract :
A sensorless PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) drive with decoupled control of electromagnetic torque and magnetic field has been developed. The insertion of an output AC power filter between inverter and motor has been considered, in order to supply motor with voltage and current with reduced harmonic content. The drive performance has been deeply investigated through an experimental analysis, in an extended speed range, from near standstill to the field weakening region. Several experimental results, which have been obtained developing a 100 kW PMSM drive, are presented and show the very satisfactory performance attained by the drive system.
