Abstract :
In this paper, a wireless interconnection operating at 24GHz, which utilizes an antenna in the form of a tapered slot structure, is proposed. The design of the antenna and the evaluation of its performance are accomplished via full-wave electromagnetic simulations. The design process assumes that the structure operates in an environment similar to the one used in the ultra large scale integration technology. The performance of the designed wireless link is compared with those offered by a wired interconnect. The obtained results indicate the superiority of the proposed antenna configuration compared with the wired interconnections and other types of wireless links reported in the literature.
