  • Abstract
Two different temperature control configurations for a thermo-pneumatic micropump are presented in this work. The temperature of the microcavity of the pump is controlled in both cases by switching on and off the supply current of a heating resistor. Temperature monitoring is achieved also by sensing a resistor value. Yet, the two configurations are completely different; one is based on a Wheatstone bridge closed loop circuitry similar to the “constant temperature anemometer” technique, while the other is based on sampling measurements between heating intervals and a model reference approach for the control of the pumping cycle
