Abstract :
In this paper, a stable method has been presented for analysis of electromagnetic wave propagation in periodic multilayered bianisotropic media. The method overcomes the numerical instability in the standard eigenproblem of cell transfer matrix, which occurs when the unit cell is thick or the frequency is high. It enables Floquet waves to be determined reliably based on the solutions to a generalized eigenproblem of cell hybrid matrix. With its numerical stability, the method is useful for analysis of periodic media with wide range of thickness at high frequency.
