Abstract :
The segmentation process is an important step in optical character recognition systems. The final goal of segmentation is to separate properly the characters. This paper proposes a new powerful method for separation of vertical overlapping characters. The proposed technique is effective and fast. Its performance is described by experimental examples in the paper
