Abstract :
A CMOS filter+integrator baseband chain embedded in a UWB receiver is implemented in a 0.18mum CMOS technology at 1.8V. The 3rd-order LP filter cut-off frequency (f0) and dc-gain (G) can be tuned from 250MHz up to 1GHz and from 0dB up to 15dB, respectively. The filter power consumption is limited to 3.2mW in the most stringent conditions, i.e. f0=250MHz, and 15 dc-gain. For f0=250MHz and unitary dc-gain, the power consumption is reduced to 210muW. These results are obtained by using a very compact circuit design that allows to avoid parasitic poles and common-mode feedback circuit. With a similar structure, a G>60dB and UGB=1GHz integrator has been realized, which consumes with 120muW
