Abstract :
This paper presents an all-analog signal component separator integrated in 0.25-mum CMOS and suitable for an 802.11a/g wireless-LAN LINC transmitter. Differently from previous analog and digital separators, the proposed analog circuit derives two constant-envelope components from the baseband-modulating signal, thus limiting the overall transmitter power consumption and the signal distortion. The circuit passes all the tests of the 54-Mb/s IEEE 802.11a/g standard, with no calibration between the paths of the two separated signals and consumes 45mW
