Abstract :
In this paper, trapezoid complex wavelet function and associate trapezoid wavelet transform is presented. This complex wavelet function is possessed of better localizability and symmetry and so by means of trapezoid wavelet transform, amplitude and phase information in the signal to be processed. By comparison with other wavelet functions, the trapezoid complex wavelet function has an even frequency characteristic. Moreover, by using the trapezoid complex wavelet transform in this paper, frequencies of signals in power systems and in loss of the field in the generators are tracked. Obviously it is shown that the trapezoid complex wavelet transform is an effective method of frequency tracking in power systems and is of important social and economic benefit.
