Abstract :
This paper describes the education and training needs of the main categories of operators, technicians and engineers employed in the semiconductor manufacturing industry in the UK. Progress is being made in establishing National Vocational Qualifications for the industry and the long-term needs for specialised degree courses are starting to be addressed
