Abstract :
The phase of scattering fields by targets is studied using the computation accuracy results of finite element-boundary integral-multilevel fast multipole algorithm (FE-BI-MLFMA) simulation, the high frequency method, and the analytical solution method. Series of numerical experiments proved that hybrid FE-BI-MLFMA technique is not only accurately computes the amplitude of scattering fields but also accurately computes the phase of scattering fields by complex targets compared to the two methods used. Thus, a simple scattering model is obtained for the cylinder with cavity by series of simulations for the range profiles of a cylinder with cavity using FE-BI-MLFMA.
