Abstract :
The work presents analysis and simulations for apertures of square, rectangle and round shape on the cylinder. For a single slot, the coupling transmission coefficient (CTC) of square and round shape slot are similar to each other and have a frequency-related fluctuating uprising tendency, when long side of a vertical rectangle is a little smaller than the half wavelength, the coupling energy through slots can reach the maximum at the coupling resonance. The CTC mainly determined by the aspect ratio (AR) of the slot more than the perimeter of the slot, and by the length of the long side of slot rather than that of the short. For apertures arrays, CTC is dramatically decreased for all shapes of slots, and coupling resonant effects are restrained. The CTC depends upon the shapes, aspect ratio, perimeter and distributions of apertures arrays. The work will, therefore, be of use to designers of missiles and airplanes.
