Abstract :
Coherent laser communication as a potential technical means on high rate satellites information transmission has become the research focus of world power. Space optical hybrid as a core component of the free space coherent laser communication receiver plays even more important role. In this paper a mathematics model is built, which is strictly deduced from the optical principle of 90 degree space optical hybrid to understand the function of optical component inside 90 degree space optical hybrid and how its technical indicators influences the four output ports relative phase difference. Consequently, a type of 90 degree space optical hybrid with accurately adjustable phase and high mixing frequency efficiency can be designed. Mechanical structure design of the new space optical hybrid is done to make it more practical and better in the application of free space coherent laser communication receiver.
