Abstract
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) offer a convenient basis toward realization of pervasive computing because of their inherent support for anytime, anywhere network access for mobile users. In this paper we introduce a protocol which uses hybrid bloom filters to perform service discovery in ad hoc networks. The proposed service discovery method enables users not only to find local services in a small-scale MANETs but also to find services in a large-scale MANETs efficiently. Experiments performed with the simulator suggest that the proposed service discovery speed up service discovery efficiently.
