Abstract :
A 202 MW alternator at the Quebec LG3 station is modelled by means of a structure of generalised equivalent circuits. The type of test used is the response to a disturbance of the order of 15% injected into the inductor in normal operation. To model the magnetic saturation in the direct axis, actual open-circuit test measurements are utilised. The saturation factor method is used in the nonlinear model of the machine
