Abstract :
This paper presents a design scheme for an intelligent fieldbus master with Ethernet interface based on Profibus. Significance of the design scheme was discussed, as there are many different kinds of fieldbuses coexisting. Architecture of Profibus protocol and its state machine was investigated. According to the state machine, an integrated communication process of the master was analyzed, and a design scheme for Profibus master is described from two aspects, i.e. the hardware design and the software design. Protocol chip ASPC2 and microprocessor S3C4510B was adopt for the hardware design. An Ethernet interface is integrated on the master for an easy access to the industrial Ethernet. The scheme for Profibus master provides a cost-effective solution for integrating fieldbus control system with industrial Ethernet control technology
